1. Get in shape. Kiteboarding is a very
demanding sport that favors those who are physically fit. Do
yourself a favor and start working out keying on number of
reps over max weight as your goal. This extra workout will
come in handy as you are able to make larger jumps and
better moves because of your improved physical
prowess.
2. Pick shorter boards for higher jumps.
Shorter boards weight less allowing you to jump higher.
3. Kite matters more than the board. Due to
the aerodynamics of the sport, the kite is the engine in
this sport. Tinker with different sized kites to get
different effects.
4. Practice, practice, practice. Much like
an other sport, the more you practice, the better you get.
Spend that extra time with the instructor as it will pay
off.
5. Plan to set aside time before you get
there. Make sure you allocate a good half day or full
day to go kiteboarding. By nailing down a set date with your
traveling party to do it, it will be much easier to make it
happen. Also, another tip is to book your lessons beforehand
so to allow you one less thing to worry about on your trip
and to allow you more time to spend either kiteboarding or
doing other activities on your trip.
