Island
As you can
imagine, one of the main draws to South Padre Island is
the cuisine. It is not every day you get quality
seafood and South Padre Island definitely does not
disappoint. Probably most recognized for its world
famous shrimp and red snapper, South Padre actually
boasts a wide variety of seafood including, crabs, clams,
lobster, oysters, and a number of different types of
fish. If this hasn't started your mouth watering
yet, maybe the appeal of more traditional Texas food
such as steaks, burgers and beer will.
South Padre Island
has a number of different restaurants that should meet
your food interests and various price ranges. We
recommend trying an assortment of them as good food can
be had in just about all of them.
Still, some
restaurants stand out more than others. One place
at South Padre Island would definitely have to be
Scampi's. This local haunt is especially good at
providing quality seafood in an upscale setting.
Other places that carry a lot of appeal for families
incude Blackbeards, Amberjacks and Sea Ranch
Restaurant. Not to be undone by the great seafood,
South Padre Island also has its own brewery at the Padre
Island Brewing Company. It is a great spot to get a
great beer, ribs, pizza, and red
snapper.
Another advantange
for tourists is most of the restaurants are geared
towards the tourist crowd. What this means to you
is you don't have to get all worked up over dress codes
at South Padre Island. Our laid back approach to
